Here are some of the ways we can help your Accessibility needs, if you have any other suggestions we’d be happy to discuss.
Accessibility Presentations
Badeyes will conduct an “Accessible Web Design” presentation” using a screen reader, JAWS. In plain language we will discuss a number of techniques on how to build an accessible web site and demonstrate how a screen reader benefits from them.
You can choose from one on one training or group sessions, in house or by telephone.
To set up an appointment email info@badeyes.com , or by phone at 705-374-4142.
Screen Reader Testing
Badeyes uses screen reader technology, Job Access With Speech(JAWS), we can test your site in the following ways:
- JAWS 4.5 with Internet Explorer 6.0
- JAWS 6.0 with Internet Explorer 6.0
- JAWS 10.0 with Internet Explorer 8.0
- JAWS 10.0 with Firefox 3.5
Affordable web design and programming
We provide small and medium sized businesses with websites that meet and/or exceed todays best practices and standards, for accessible web design. Our sites are W3C compliant, valid xhtml and valid css.
Our sites also meet the Accessibility for Ontairians with Disabilities Act(AODA) Information and Communications Standard guidelines.
We use todays most popular Blogging/Content Management System(CMS) WordPress to create our sites. We have created our own “Accessible Theme” that will ensure your site meets todays Web Content Accessibility Guidelines(WCAG) 2.0 as well as other best practices.
WordPress can double as a Blog or a Content Management System(CMS) and has a very easy to use Admin Interface so anyone with limited skills can still manage their own sites.
WordPress has a myriad of plugins to add extra functionality to augment any site, from language translation, event calendars, Twitter and Facebook tools, Google Analytics and much much more. Adding them to your site is much cheaper than hiring a programmer.
Consulting
Many companies already have skilled programmers and designers, as part of their team, however knowledge of accessible web design is not usually one of their strengths and very few employ people who are screen reader users.
This is where we can help you. Our hands on knowledge of screen reader technology and expertise in accessible web design can be used to help your current design firm achieve todays’ best practices and standards.
We can achieve this in person or over the phone.
Site Check/Audit
While we can do in-depth Audits, Unlike other companies we can tell you, at no cost, if your site is compliant or not, if it isn’t then we feel it best that you discuss with us a plan on how to bring it up to speed rather than spending money best used to rebuild your site, or better still, start anew, in many cases retrofitting is far more costly in the long run.
